Amazing Athletes

A fun-filled sports program that incorporates physical fitness, muscle tone and gross motor skills while playing and learning a variety of sports. Baseball, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, football and golf are some of the featured sports.

Cook 'n' Book

Favorite stories provide the springboard for cool cooking projects! From The Gingerbread Man to If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, children will delve into each book with spatulas flying and cook up a special snack to enjoy in class. Books, food and friends – the perfect recipe for fun!

Lunch Bunch

Students enjoy socializing and lunch from home with their friends, followed by unstructured play.
A fun way to extend your child’s day!

Pre-K Cook'n'Learn and Yoga Tales

A fresh pairing of cooking and movement for our Pre-K students. Includes Lunch Bunch (lunch brought from home). Registration includes both classes: Cook’n’Learn – Travel Edition! – We’re taking your preschooler around the world in a flurry of cooking fun. Japan this week; Mexico tomorrow…where will they go and what will they cook? Join the class and see!  Yoga Tales – Our own Jessica Ortega will lead the class in children’s yoga and movement with a “twist” – movement and yoga experiences based on stories! Balance, coordination, flexibility, focus, creativity and self-esteem – all these qualities grow as children stretch their bodies and their imaginations!

Action Spanish

Certified Spanish teacher Jamie Reinberg will keep students on the move as they learn Spanish words and phrases – each class will include conversation over a lunch from home, followed by games and activities designed to make language learning lively and engaging.

Pre-K Discovery Days

Designed especially for the NFCNS Pre-K student and taught by one of our own NFCNS Pre-K teachers, this program will provide extensions of the NFCNS curriculum such as handwriting, literacy projects, current events and math activities. Includes Mad Science and Amazing Athletes.

Enrichment programs are available for all students who are enrolled in Bears, 3-Day, 4-Day, or Pre-K classes during the school year.  These programs extend the NFCNS school day, and can be quite popular, so registration is based on a lottery system.

If you are also interested in enrolling your Pre-K student in the Before-Care offerings through the Northfield Park District, you may print the necessary forms by visiting their website here.  Once they are complete, they can be returned with payment directly to the Park District.

We use a lottery system to fill our enrichment classes. Here is how it works:

  • You will receive a pre-registration form that lists all the available classes for registration and allows you indicate first and second choices for enrichment classes.
  • Important note: It is fine to photograph or scan your completed pre-registration form and email it to nfcnsdirector@gmail.com– just be sure it is completely legible!  If you complete both sides of the form, please scan both sides and attach them both to the same email.  Heather will email you an acknowledgment of receipt.  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT within 24 hours, please call the school office.
  • Families who have turned in forms will be assigned a random order, and will be enrolled in classes according to that random order.
  • We’ll notify you of the final placements.
  • Enrollment is not complete until the forms and payment have been received.
  • Tuition accounts must be current in order to register for enrichment’s

Any spots available after the lottery is held will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

If you will also be registering for Northfield Park District’s Pre-K Before Care program, you may print their forms from the NPD website, https://northfieldparks.org/, complete them, and turn them in with payment to the Northfield Park District.  Forms will also be available at NFCNS, clipped to the information whiteboard in the entry.
