Welcome to your Classroom
Welcome 4-Day families to the start of the new school year. I am so excited to see all of you and introduce you to our new teacher, Mrs. Rosenfeld. We are planning for another exciting year. We know children will be arriving to school ready for action, ready for creativity, ready to problem solve, ready to communicate, ready to belong. We know you are ready to play.
The students in the 4-Day class will have the freedom to explore and create. They may start with a tape measure to measure the circumference of a tree, which leads to the measurement of a bike and a car. The tape measure can become a fishing pole, a dog lease and finally it can take turns down the slide. Imagination and creativity is always expressed in play.
The children in the 4-Day class communicate, negotiate and respect their classmates. They can collaborate to determine dramatic play roles at the start of play and then change as it evolves. The students have a sense of ownership and control. Play builds self- confidence.
We can’t wait to see your smiling eyes!

If your child will go home with another student, you must let us know in writing either by sending in a note or by emailing the preschool at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your child is late to class, please check in with Heather as s/he will have to be temperature-checked before entering the classroom.
Our class will begin the day outside! Please have your child use the bathroom before leaving the house.
Dress for outside play – layers and closed-toed shoes or boots if necessary.
Dress for mess! We will be unable to share smocks for art activities.
One day each month the class will celebrate Color Day. We’ll list the dates on our class web page. Please have your child dress in the color for that day. This year we will be unable to ask children to bring color items from home.
Beginning in November each child will be assigned a “leader day.” You will receive a leader calendar for each month. The leader will take attendance, be first in line, and will share a story at rug time.
To bring to school:
Please send in a complete set of clothing for your child, labeled, in a Ziploc bag.
We’ll be wearing our masks every day. Please be sure your child’s masks are comfortable, and send in 3 labeled masks to be kept with your child’s extra clothing.
Please send in a 4 x 6 photo of your family to be kept at school.
Bring a freshly filled water bottle, labeled with your child’s name, every day.
…and feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns.
Things will look a little different for arrivals when we open in few weeks. Watch the video to see a demonstration and share with your little ones so they know what to expect!
